Pope still near death. The Blues beat the Saints.

The Vatican announced that the Pope is still gravely ill (condition = very serious). It's pretty neat how you can get 24/7 news about the Pope on CNN. It's also quite weird to play “who can stay up awake the longest” with my brother; it's actually him versus CNN correspondent, Christiane Amanpour — both are in Rome, Italy. They were pretty much up for at least 12 hours straight. I think he beat her — she didn't report anymore after 6AM Rome time and my brother went to bed around 7AM Rome time.

My sis told me this morning (while we were watching the Chelsea game and switching between Fox Soccer Channel and CNN) that the description on Dan Brown's fictional “Angels and Demons” novel of the people at St. Peter's Square (including the press camped outside) was eerie. I told her that it was merely coincidence and at the same time, Dan Brown probably did some research when the last Pope was declared (1978) after the conclave… Still, I suppose I should go back to reading that book after a 3 week hiatus from it!

And now, Chelsea versus Southampton. My beloved Blues beat the Saints 3 – 1. I had a feeling South'n would score, but I can't believe I failed to predict that when I placed the values in the Premier League game, “I Know the Score” on their website. Oh well. My Blues won. I'm extremely elated. 🙂
