I watched the funeral of Pope John Paul II early this morning on CNN. Being familiar with the liturgy, I had a great appreciation for this media outlet to air it live; I have also never seen that many cardinals, bishops, priests, etc. in one mass! I can only imagine how they managed to get the logistics together! Of course, I also noticed how beautiful the readings were and the rites used. Most of it is “standard” funeral stuff, but it's amazing to see it in that HUGE celebration.
