Long time no see, Mr. Long Run. First off, my average pace and calories burned are 12&#039;38&quot;\/mi and 956, respectively. I did not have my Garmin with me today (sis has borrowed it for months now!) so I used my iPod and Nike+ combo thingy. I think I need to calibrate the thing &#8212; it&#039;s not as accurate as my GPS readings with the Garmin but it did its job for this run. The run itself was mostly a walk-run-walk &#8212; I&#039;m trying to get back into running after months of inactivity (aside from those sporadic mid-week runs) and think I wasn&#039;t too bad. The soles of my feet hurt but that&#039;s because I haven&#039;t been stretching; my right knee kinda started to hurt but I upped my pace and ran on my &#039;toes&#039; a bit to stretch it out. The weather was perfect &#8212; not too cold nor sunny; I just love those semi-cloudy days and I think what kept me going was the fact that I&#039;ll have a week-long surfing holiday after my marathon in June! So yah, getting back in shape and hoping this jump-starts my marathon training. ^_^ Next week&#8230; 15 miles!<\/p>\n<p>Oh, one odd thing to note &#8212; I didn&#039;t drink much of my Gatorade nor eat more than 6 of the Jellybelly &quot;Sport Beans&quot;. Normally, I&#039;d eat 1 ClifSHOT blok every thirty minutes but I guess my run lacked the intensity for my body to crave that stuff.
