At first I thought it was feedback, so I disconnect my speakers and connect the headset speaker jack to my soundcard's speaker jack… The buzzing was still there. So I unhooked everything again, rebooted and then connected the headset — and the buzzing was still there.

And then… I muted my mic and attempted to calibrate it via Counter-Strike's mic utility — the buzzing was still there! I then tapped a few times on the headset's mic and the buzzing was gone! Yay it worked! (Or so I thought). That was on Friday, I think.

Over the next few days, the buzzing would return and I'd simply tap on the mic and it would go away, but not this afternoon. This afternoon, the buzzing came back and after constant tapping, it would not go away. I went on the Plantronics website and “chatted” with one of their tech support people. To make a long story short, they advised me to return the headset and get a replacement because it was “defective”. So, I contacted Amazon to return the headset and get a replacement. They gave me a postage-paid pre-printed UPS label and I dropped it off @ my local UPS center. Now I await my next headset…

*sigh*

It's difficult playing Counter-Strike without a microphone now. I feel so helpless! I can't even yell for help anymore or sound off… I think I'm cursed with broken mics, too. The main reason why I got that headset is because the first mic I used died on me because it was a piece of crap (then again, it was $1.99). The second mic I used was a toy and kept turning off, and now this headset?! Cursed. Cursed, I'm telling you.

Ever since I got my new Plantronics A .60 analog computer headset (oof! that was a mouthful!), I've been having technical difficulties with it.
When I first opened the package and connected the headset (properly) to my 'puter, I got this weird buzzing noise!
