Yup, it's that time of the year again when Nike showers us (at this instance, it was a slight drizzle) with the newest running gear — shoes & apparel. The shoes I got for this series is called “Air Coos” or summat like that.

Anyway, it'll be kewl going back to the training runs again. Hope we don't get rained out or anything though. It finally started raining in the Torrance area a few days ago and it's been intermittent. I'm hoping rain equals snow at the mountains… Speaking of snow, we're going snowboarding this Thursday and Friday at Mammoth! w00t! It'll just be my sisters, our younger bro and I… Going mid-week (we hope) means that it'll be less busy…

Anyway, 2005 has come and gone; the natural disasters, the death of Pope John Paul II, etc. have made me think about and review the past year…

January was marked with the most painful sinusitis I have ever experienced. It was SOO BAD, I hope I don't get it ever again. EVER. It probably did not help that I went snowboarding twice that month (while somewhat sick).

I met February with a small snowboarding injury, my wisdom tooth decided to wreak havok in my mouth, and Chelsea win the Carling Cup

March and April were somewhat grim — Pope John Paul II's death meant certain protocols had to be followed (I've never planned so many masses!) and I followed the conclave on the TV — I've never watched that much CNN almost non-stop! The only light that seemed to shine during those two months was definitely Chelsea winning the Premiership after 50 dry years, but still, it was bittersweet amid the recent events.

May meant no more footy on the telly (except for the Champions League — ugh, the Reds) and the beginning of my training for the Chicago Marathon.

I didn't train much during June either…

July was another one of those bittersweet months… Fun: mum, father and li'l bro were visiting from Italy, I finally play Counter-Strike again; Sad: my grandfather died, my computer decided to kill itself, I barely did any of my training runs…

August meant that the Premiership was back (and two fabulous Chelsea wins against the Gunners were sweeter than my fav sweets), a somewhat impromptu Vegas family vaca was awesome, while September meant that the Chicago Marathon was looming closer and I had a month to get back into shape and into training…

I completed my very first marathon in October, began my last year in the 20's and learned how to sew by the end of the month.

November was a blur because I spent most of it writing a 50,000-word novel (and finished it!) and we kicked off the snowboarding season at the then-icy Mammoth slopes…

…and so we arrive last month, last year: December. Didn't I tell you that time flew? 😛

Anyway, there was something that our Parish Priest mentioned on the New Years' Day mass that made loads of sense — before we think about making “resolutions” about what we want out of life, perhaps we should turn to God and ask Him what he wants out of us… I'm probably using that as an excuse to defer posting any resolutions until I make up my mind; There's another “new year” celebration coming up in February anyway… I can post my “resolutions” then 😛 hehehe…

Oh yah, I prolly put down “minimise procrastination” as one of my resolutions!

Running gear, that is.
