The good news is, I&#8217;m in much better shape (weight-wise) than last year; the bad news is, I haven&#8217;t really kept up the mileage so I&#8217;m not sure how (bad) I&#8217;ll fare for 26.2 miles. ACK. Basically, my fitness level is still up in the air.<\/p>\n<p>I took a look at my training for the past 4 months and it DOES NOT bode well for this Sunday:<\/p>\n<p>40 miles in December (really curious how this happened!)<br \/>\n12 miles in January (12! Ack! I blame it on the rain [yeah yeah&#8230;] and my snowboard trips :))<br \/>\n44 miles in February (not too shabby, but I remember missing a LOT of training runs)<br \/>\n43 miles in March<\/p>\n<p>Compare that to my training for last year&#8217;s October marathon:<br \/>\n77 miles in April, 63 miles in May, 43 miles in June, 19 miles in July, 73 miles in August, 77 miles in September&#8230; and these also entailed a couple of skipped runs!<\/p>\n<p>My initial goal of finishing at 5 hours and 30 minutes is but a memory. Now I just want to finish; preferably under 7 hours &#8212; under 6 hours if at all possible, even! Oh, and survive. +_+<\/p>\n<p>So here&#8217;s the new plan: I&#8217;m just going to pray (did I mention I was going to try to do all 20 decades of the <a title=\"Rosary\" href=\"http:\/\/www.medjugorje.org\/rosary.htm\">Rosary<\/a>?!), eat my Clif Shot gels (1 entire gel every 30 minutes), enjoy the race course, and not think of the miles.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s hoping there will be to beautiful (i.e., COLD!) weather\u00a0 on Sunday!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m officially freaking out.<br \/>\nThere&#8217;s only 3 days left and I&#8217;ve done all the training I can do before the LA Marathon.
