Okie, I don&#8217;t know how I came upon this map but I thought it was kinda creepy&#8230; At that time, at least according to the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Island_of_California\">Wikipedia article<\/a>, the European conception (or misconception) was that California as an island and not part of the US mainland&#8230; Whoa. Maybe they saw something \u00e0 la Nostradamus?
