200 Hail Marys

I nearly forget to share the music for this week’s “Fridays in Lent…” Though it’s technically Saturday morning (read: midnight), I began to search for the song earlier this evening (11PM) 😉 Enjoy:

Also, as if running the marathon on Sunday isn’t enough, along with (successfully) raising funds for the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research (in memory of Herman), I’ve decided to pray the Rosary during the marathon…  One mystery per mile (starting at mile 1).  That’s a decade every mile AND I am doing all 4 mysteries (Glorious, Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful). Oof.

I actually began to practise this during my final long run last weekend. The verdict: I couldn’t even remember the first Glorious mystery and stopped. >_< My great-aunt is probably rolling in her grave right now! LOL She was the one that taught us how to pray the rosary. LOL. Still, I found a valuable resource that has a recording of the Rosary! You can download and “pray along” to all 20 decades! wOOt! The Rosary MP3’s came from (appropriately called): Rosary Army. Oh, and that resource is freeeeeeeee!

I was able to “cut” each mystery and will set them on my iPod’s playlist. I just have to figure out how long it would take me to reach mile 1 — I remember last year, it was so crowded, we were practically walking for nearly a quarter of a mile before we were able to break into a jog! I suppose I’ll place these files MP3s  every 13 minutes… Hopefully, I hit each mile on the dot as I hear the rosary being prayed in my ear.

If you want a copy of the “broken down” mysteries, let me know! 🙂
