Weekend (food) recap.

Tuesday, 13 April 2010 | 04:04 pm

I haven’t done this in a while and I think I really need to post these weekly food updates to keep track of my nutrition. I’m gonna cheat a bit, too cos I’m including what I ate today (Tuesday) as part of the weekend. >_<

Friday
After my 10-miler, I had some of the pasta I made the night before as a recovery meal. Unfortunately, a few hours later, I was soooo hungry that I gave in to a Pizza Hut advert on telly: $10 for any large pizza — any toppings! Ahhh. Doesn’t it look scrumptious?!

Saturday
Brekkers was a breakfast sausage patty with scrambled eggs and half a toasted (plain) bagel. Lunch was a different beast on its own. I went overboard (as I tend to do with ordering food) and got the Chili Cheese Fries with everything on it. I also ordered a regular hotdog but ended up trashing that the next day… Untouched, even :(

For supper, I went conservative (sort of!) and just had a carne asada taco with a BIG serving of Pomegranate margarita >_< Yeah, that’s conservative for you. LOL.

Sunday
The usual brekkers (cos it was free!) of scrambled eggs, toasted bagel and sausage patty. Lunch was actually a “healthy” roast beef sammich from Erick Schat’s Bakkery in Bishop, CA. Yesh, it had veggies, and alfalfa, lol and other good stuff. Did I mention it was on wheat bread, too?

Supper was, well, I don’t have any photos from Sunday’s supper, but it was a mixture of spicy meatballs, fries and two glasses of Pinot Noir from The Side Door bar in Manhattan Beach. Ahhh.

Monday
Breh. If Friday was bad, Monday was equally as bad since I had 3 slices of the same pizza from Friday. LOL. This is why I shouldn’t order a large pizza if there are only two people eating it during the week! >_<

Today
Brekkers was the usual oatmeal with dehydrated strawberries and lunch was supposed to be my fav Big Mista’s BBQ brisket sarnie buuuuut, I was unable to go out for a lunchtime run so I totally didn’t deserve it ;) Instead, I had to look at what we have in the fridge and pantry (I really need to go grocery shopping!) and made this tasty impromptu, er, meal

What issit? Well, I had some canned salmon left, canned corn and some baby carrots. I nuked the lot, sprinkled a bit of mum’s truffle oil and then dug in. LOL. It was actually satisfying… Not a brisket sarnie but it filled me up and the truffle oil really made a big difference. :)

So there you have it. My “weekend” food recap. As posted before, I’ve already resolved to eating what I want but in moderation. Still, I’d like to incorporate more whole grains and veggies into my daily meals. After all, I want to keep running until I’m like, 80! Hehehe.

Weekend (food) Recap!

Monday, 01 March 2010 | 02:09 pm

Okie, so I mentioned before that I don’t normally do recaps of what I ate, but felt compelled to do so since I fell of the healthy eating bandwagon once again. It wasn’t as bad as last weekend, though but still! Ugh.

Friday
Had sashimi for lunch and though I should’ve stopped there, I quelled my deep-fried-food craving with an order of sweet shrimp (Amaebi) which, of course, is served with two battered and deep-fried shrimp heads. Ahhh oh so good. Supper was fairly healthy with my custom-tuna spinach wrap! I’ll try to write the recipe sometime. It’s SUPER easy to do and very much fulfilling. ^_^

Saturday
Location: Mammoth! The place we stayed at had free (continental) brekkers but since we woke up late, we were only able to grab some plain bagels (I had a toasted one with cream cheese.) Lunch ended up sharing a LARGE serving of chilli-cheese fries with sis, and half a Nathans hotdog (sans the bun). Oh-so-bad-but-so-good!

I have to add that we didn’t finish this entire basket (had about a quarter of it, though!) and packed up the rest for snacking later. ;) So as if that weren’t too much, we went straight to Roberto’s for our après-boarding margarita (had two, eek!) and a hefty serving of Carne Asada (again, I wasn’t able to finish my food so we brought it back to the room.)

I would later regret (about 5 hours later! LOL) having two margaritas when the delicious one above (a Pomarita: pomegranate, Patron, triple sec) was more than enough!

Sunday
Having expunged the night before what I ate the night before (soz TMI! lol), I woke up super hungry and had the rest of my carne asada and chilli-cheese fries for brekkers. I should add (as if it helps) that I only had like, half of the remaining serving — which is still a LOT but only a quarter of the portion of the total basket. After another session of snowboarding, and on our way home, we stopped by our fav Chinese restaurant in Bishop where we enjoyed some spicy salt & pepper ribs, fried rice and two bowls of egg drop soup. Ahhhh. I didn’t even bother ordering any veggies! >_<

So there, when we finally got home, I just felt like having some Honey Nut Cheerios for supper before passing out. I’ll have the remaining ribs left-over from yesterday for lunch and then am getting back on the healthy food bandwagon tonight: grilled chicken breast over brown rice with a side of blanched asparagus. ^_^
