Barefoot Training: 4 miles

What a (negative) difference no running during the weekend makes. :(

I didn’t do my 18-mile run on Saturday because of the self-defence class that was practically the entire day. And I didn’t know what I was thinking when I thought I could run on Sunday (was too sore!) and then was still feeling the after-effects of the class on Monday (hey, so I got in three [controlled] fights on Saturday! It really took a toll on my body!)

Anyway, after all that, I guess my body was reverting back to its lazy self, especially when it has not run in three days! Eek.

I already felt sluggish the entire day and nearly didn’t feel like going out for my run but my virtual training bestie, Sheryl, did her “work” with motivating me to just get going. When I finally got to the park, it didn’t help that my Garmin wouldn’t find any satellites and only did, nearly a mile into running. UGH.

I’m glad I kept going, though, and completed my run because I feel better now. In fact, I’m kinda wired that I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep in a while. ROFL. You win some, you lose some (sleep!)

Well, I was supposed to take it easy today but I guess Sunday’s result kinda left a bad taste in my mouf (no, it’s not cos of all those beers ;) ) that I was probably telling myself that I could’ve done it if I stuck through it. My breathing was laboured, my HR was high but I didn’t care and though I might’ve slowed down during some sections, but I told myself I wasn’t going to stop and walk until the end. >_<

Good news: no knee pain, no arch pain!
Bad news: gonna be effing sore tomorroz! LOL

p.s.,
I just remembered that my shoulders began to tense up. Again, cos I’m not used to breathing so deeply and working that hard. I just shook my arms and such and the tightness went away. I should’ve also worn my Phiten necklace, but it could also be psychological. >_<

Swim Training (1200m)

ZOMG. I did all 3 drills today and then one more! wOOt. I had to switch around my training (supposed to do barefoot run) but since my Vibram Five Fingers didn’t dry from this weekend’s festivities (surfing + ocean swim), I decided to switch my Wednesday workout (swim) with today’s. Of course, it’s all Virtual Training Besties approved ;)

Anyway, I feel good but I might need to do my swims during the day (aka lunch break) cos right now I’m wired. LOL. Maybe I shouldn’t have eaten a Nutella sammich for supper, too. >_<

Here’s what I did for tonight’s workout:

5x50m thumb-to-thigh
5x50m touch-and-go
5x50m closed-fist
5x50m sighting
50m paddie
50m cool down
