Long Run Training: 11 miles

Sunday, 27 September 2009 | 05:06 pm

I ran my scheduled 11 miles this morning and I was glad it was foggy and somewhat cold (but not cold enough!). I don’t know how to explain it but there was an unpleasant sensation to my knees around mile 4 up until mile 5 but went away after that — or I could’ve just blocked it out with my super-saiyan-mental-strength. ROFL.

Also, aside from wasting 3 minutes refilling my water bottle and dropping a tablet of delicious berry Nuun, and the odd break running into people I know, I think I did relatively well (time-wise). So yeah, Garmin Connect will report that I actually ran 11.64 miles, whilst Nike+iPod will show you that I went over with 12.64 miles.

Oddly enough, my next long run’s mileage is 12 miles! I think I want to do it… Or maybe I’ll get lazy and taper it off to an easy 9 miles. We shall see…

Training Run: 4 miles

Wednesday, 23 September 2009 | 10:05 am

Okie, I was supposed to do 5 miles last night but I got too hungry that I decided to turn around early — that and it was super dark and scary running down the Strand on a weekday (despite the fact that I mostly ran the path with my sister and our friend Lisa). Still, it was a good workout!

I finally remembered to bring my Nike+ iPod sensor, so I have some Nike+ stats and Garmin stats, as usual.

Garmin Connect and Nike+iPod.

Long Run Training: 13 miles

Saturday, 19 September 2009 | 09:25 am

Supposed to do 10 miles but ended up walking the final 3 miles to bring the tally up. I was running with sis (Annelle) and it was good  because her pace was perfect for someone who was getting back to the swing of things. No real pains felt (amazingly) except for some soreness on the soles of my feet (stretching it out helped, though). Overall, a great jumpstart to my training. ^_^

Oh, I guess a month is enough for me to forget my pre-run routine that I forget to put the sensor on my iPod for my Nike+ system! LOL. It was cool, though as I still had music and was able to gather other data as I wore my Garmin and HR monitor. Stats can be found below!
