Gong Xi Fa Cai!

As you will notice with the photos below, I've completed painting my longboard! w00t! They're the same board, just took the photo twice — without flash and with flash, respectively. In a few days, I'll be coating this thing with polyurethane and then while it's drying, will be able to start with the grip tape (cutting the design out of the grip tape anyway). With the two photos, I still didn't get a good shot of the "burgundy" part of the shield so I'll probably take another photo tomorrow morning! Anyway…. enjoy:

Ok, the white paint over the (white) gesso has dried — actually dried a few days ago but I've been bogged down with other shtuff — and I sketched the design on the board the other day. Below are two photos, side-by-side — the larger one showing somewhat of a detail.


After sketching, I immediately worked on coloring in the dragon and naturally, became impatient whilst the paint dried and began with the grey/silver parts. As you can see (from the photo below), I didn't do such a great job with the coverage for the silver, so I'll be blending and will even out that mess.
