NaNoWriMo

Thursday, 12 October 2006 | 11:47 am

As if I do not have an already hectic schedule, I've decided to participate at this year's National November Writing Month — NaNoWriMo, for short. Go to that link for more information. I'm basically going to complete a 50k word novel (yes, that's 50,000) at the end of November. Yes, “basically”. Eep.

Anyway, last year, I was able to meet that goal and ended up with a finished, albeit unpolished, novel. I sort of have plans to complete last year's novel and probably have it published. Iono. I'm excited about this year, though. Granted, I haven't a clue what I'm going to write about, nor do I have a plot in mind, but it'll be a blast as usual!

So… any takers? ^_^

Congratulations, Annelle (and I survived.)

Monday, 09 October 2006 | 01:56 pm

FIRST OFF, congratulations to my big sis Annelle. She finished her first evar half-marathon (that's thirteen and 1/10 miles for you running newbs!)

Notes:
As you can see, I have survived. It wasn't bad at all. A slight ache with my left knee but it was fine after the 1st mile. I'd rather have my sis write what happened in the 1/2 marathon cos this was her day but overall, it was not too bad at all. It was nice cos I ran with her all the way and afterwards, my sis told me that had I not ran side-by-side, she would've given up at mile 9! Wheeee! My first “success” story! :D

Anyway, for any running newbies out there, if she can do it, YOU can do it, too! Seriously, just train though — don't go do what I did (now dubbed the “Irene Training Programme” — named after our friend, Irene, who has the habit of registering and running races with little training! EEP!), especially if it's your first time! Sheryl? OJ? Anyone? :-P

CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN, SIS! ^_^

I'll carry on?

Friday, 06 October 2006 | 05:24 pm

T minus 2 days — or just about. My 13.1 mile-run is creeping up and the stress is kicking in. Normally, I'd be confident and say, I've trained well and my training will keep me going; well, in this case, I haven't really trained and it's no one else's fault but myself. Well, OK I'm gonna make some excuses right now: 1) I seem to train poorly in the summer; I did the same thing for my Chicago Marathon and that wasn't a very nice experience. That's about it. I'm blaming it on the lazy summer. Shyte.

Well, I'm not going to give up. I'll be cheesy and say, I'll carry on. I'll prolly be in so much pain on monday but I know I'll be finishing the stupid thing. UGH. Oh yah, I might do another 1/2 marathon in December — lol, the Los Angeles 1/2 marathon… Wanna join me?
