World Cup Commentators – Action Required

Saturday, 04 March 2006 | 03:22 am

IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED

If you're horrified at the thought of Dave O'Brian, JP Dellacamera and Rob Stone ruining your World Cup, don't just complain… do something about it!

LET ESPN KNOW HOW YOU FEEL!

Petition letter:

To the officials at ESPN:

I am sending you this letter in protest of your decision on the commentators for the World Cup. The largest sporting event in the world deserves the best coverage possible. An estimated 28.8 billion viewers watched the 2002 tournament with 1.1 billion tuning in for the final. Even the World Cup finals draw had 300 million viewers world wide.

As a sports leader and the largest cable sports network it would make sense that the company would want to have the best coverage of the event possible. Missed a couple of training runs.

Thursday, 02 March 2006 | 09:04 pm

So I missed a couple of training runs. I missed my 9 mile run on Saturday (I went snowboarding instead), missed my 3 mile run on Tuesday, the 5-miler on Wednesday and the 3-miler today (Thursday). This weekend, I'm supposed to run 10 miles and Iono if I'll survive — I'll do it, but I'll prolly die or summat >_<

Anyway, I need to keep myself motivated. I do not want a repeat of my performance (or lack thereof) @ Chicago. I mean, I finished and all, and that should be an accomplishment of it's own, but it's tough being a “runner” especially if yer older sis is a “veteran” runner (14+ marathons and counting… eep!)

I think the photo below will motivate me; remind me of the 26.2 grueling miles and the 6+ hours on my feet. I want to shave a whole hour off that time, too… I've got a LOT of work ahead of me >_<

It's blurred out, but if you check the name above me, it's a 65-year-old Kiwi who finished around the same time I did. She's freakin' 65, though! WOW.

Ashes und Power

Wednesday, 01 March 2006 | 02:08 pm

Ash Wednesday today. First day of Lent. Here's to 40 prayerful days and nights (or summat like that.)

SoCal Edison decided to cut our power to make some power upgrades/repairs. They've conveniently cut it so that I missed the entire England vs. Uruguay friendly. Loverly. >_<
