Long Run Training: 6 miles

Sunday, 18 September 2005 | 08:09 am

Distance: 6 miles (9.6 Kilometres)
Time: 1:30:00
Date: September 18th, 2005

Notes:
Well, I was supposed to run 20 miles today — at least 10, and I could barely continue. If it's not the knee pain, it's the stomach pain >.< -- I had some GU-brand energy gel and although the gel tasted really good, it didn't mesh well with my tummy... I almost threw up all the goo... that's how bad it was. I guess I'll just be taking Clif Shots!

I really have to focus these last two weeks — that means, no more missing runs OR long runs! I guess my nerves got to me this morning, too. I kept thinking about Chicago and I just could barely continue my run! Ahhh…

Training: 5 Miles

Thursday, 15 September 2005 | 06:52 pm

Distance: 5 miles (8 Kilometres)
Time: 1:00:00
Date: September 15th, 2005

Notes:
I ran to church today for choir practice. I figured, I'd hit two birds with one stone by doing my training and training. ;) It was not too bad; had two hills to conquer, one was steeper than the other. Overall, a good run. Tomorrow, 10 miles!

Morning Malaise.

Wednesday, 14 September 2005 | 06:06 am

I'm not really feeling physically ill or anything like that. However, I might as well be, with the string of silly troubles that started early this morning.

I guess it was around 7AM when I was woken up by my sister (or should I say, startled awake!), pleading that I help her find her car key. She had her house keys with her, but not the one single car key — to unlock and start her car. >.< Anyway, after 25 to 30 minutes of searching and not finding the key, I started looking for her duplicate key. By this time, I'm past being half-awake -- having gone out in my pyjamas and searching the wet grass for a renegade car key that might have fallen -- and I realize that she had a spare key made a few years back and it has to be in the house somewhere.

I found the spare key, and went to her truck. It fit the keyhole on the passenger door but it wouldn't budge. This should've been my cue to stop trying, however, I went to the driver's door and tried it — BINGO! It opened. I should've stopped there, but I didn't, so I tried it on the ignition. It was a bit tight, but I managed to insert the key in the ignition and start the car. Success! Too bad I can't take the key out of the ignition slot now. So now, not only do I have to find the original car key, I also have to get that stupidly-made spare key out of the ignition! AHhh. >.<

Did I mention that I don't have a car today because my other sis borrowed it, 'cuz her car is in the shop getting her brakes fixed? Oh yah, on an unrelated note, we lost power this morning — I dunno what time, but when I woke up, my clock read “2:00AM”. Could the power outage have been related to that blunder at the power plant yesterday? Who knows…

Hope this day brightens up. I do have 5 to 10 miles to run ahead of me… +_+

*update*
My bro was able to remove the key from the ignition. At least the car won't get stolen… The original key is still missing, though. >.<
