It's official.

My sis is a horrible driver. She even admitted it to us yesterday*.

A year or two back, my other sis got car sick due to my sis' driving and threw-up in the back seat of her car… Of course, it didn't help that my sis who threw up had quite a few to drink, but that's besides the point. Fast-forward to this weekend, when my sis was part of the 'support-team' for her friend, Myrna, in the San Diego Rock 'n Roll marathon. Well, day before the marathon, Myrna had eaten some bad fish tacos and was feeling a bit queasy. She decided to sit in the back seat (sound familiar now?) and well, vomitted; fortunately for my sis, she stuck her head out of the window to do her business. Poor Myrna.

So a word of caution: if you're riding in the same vehicle that my sis is driving, make sure your seats are in the upright position, tray tables stowed away, and have your vomit-bag ready.

*Sorry, sis, but I had to share it with the people of the intarweb. <3!

Long Run Training: 6 miles

Sunday, 05 June 2005 | 12:00 pm

Distance: 6.00 miles (9.65 Kilometres)
Time: 1:11:14
Date: June 5th, 2005

Notes:
My first 'long run' and I almost quit 3.11 miles into the run! I think it had something to do with it being extremely hot and me wearing a long-sleeved running shirt. In any case, I stuck to it and did my 6 miles. This run'll teach me, though, that I should get up earlier so that the sun doesn't get too hot. It might also help to wear a singlet or a non-long-sleeved shirt next time. I also need sunscreen as I have developed an embarassingly bad farmer tan on my legs. >.< Next week... 7 miles!

Action.

Saturday, 04 June 2005 | 12:19 pm

I am addicted to action films.

Ok, maybe the word 'addicted' is too much. Let's just say I have a strong liking for that genre; regardless of its cheesyness (word?). For instance, I'm watching the end of In the Line of Fire with Clint Eastwood and John Malkovich. My favorite part of the movie? When Clint Eastwood yells “gun!” and takes the bullet for the president. You can't do that with Computer Graphics Imagery (CGI). I also love big explosions and car chases. They're the best, IMHO, even if they're cheaply-made…

I 'blame' this on my Dad. He has a passion for all things cheesy (slapstick comedy flicks, low-budget action films, high-budget action films…) and I think I've inherited it. Of course, my sisters would claim that they like action flicks, too (along with my brothers). I guess the kids in our family love action flicks… all thanks to Daddy.

I can't even name all the countless films we've seen together as a family, the bulk of them being action/adventure-type movies. Come to think of it, that's prolly why Mum rarely ever watched a flick with us… She doesn't like the shouting and shooting in the same scene ;)

Anyway, ADVANCE HAPPY FATHERS' DAY, DAD! :)
